Matthew Stafford might not have his top weapon at full strength, but he will still have plenty of opportunities to put up yards and points against a leaky New York Jets’ secondary in his team’s week 4 game.

Granted, he will have to redesign his approach a little bit because it won’t be an option to constantly target Calvin Johnson, who is dealing with a nagging ankle injury. But there will still be receivers running open for Stafford, as long as he can make the throws.

That was the case on this beautiful, long touchdown pass to receiver Jeremy Ross. Stafford was right on the money as the Lions put a touchdown on the board.

There is no doubt that Stafford can make all of the throws required of an elite NFL quarterback. What has been called into question in the past, and rightfully so, is whether he can consistently do so, especially when Johnson is not fully healthy. More throws like this one will go a long way for Stafford and the Lions.
