The problem is for the past few seasons he simply hasn’t been able to stay healthy and be on the field for the Pats. This season Gronk finally is starting to look like his old self even if he may not quite be 100 percent which he admitted to a few weeks back. However, according to Gronk himself he is ready to start seeing some more playing time.
He had this to say to NBC Sports:
"“I’ve been in about three games deep now, So basically, it’s just progressing every week but it’s getting to the point where we can start rolling more and more. … I don’t want to go out to the game and be limited, so I always want to play as much as I can because I like being out there. So it’s up to the coaches and when my number is called, I’m going to go out there.”"
Gronk is returning this season from a torn ACL after a brutal hit to his knee last season. Up until now the Pats have tried to ease Gronk back into the offense and have taken it rather slow with three big tight end. We shall see if Gronk gets his wish this week when the Patriots take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
