As if it hasn’t been obvious enough over the past few weeks, the NFL has a bit of a problem with domestic violence. It’s sad, but true, and has prompted the league and its leaders to search for solutions on how to better monitor the players’ conduct off the field.

Recently, reports began to surface that commissioner Roger Goodell and NFL executive vice president Troy Vincent could meet with Texas head coach Charlie Strong, whose core values on conduct are widely known, to discuss how to fix the issue, so to speak.
Well on Sunday while the two were in Austin, the meeting did in fact take place, as Vincent noted on twitter.
Appreciate leadership of @Strong_TexasFB. Admire his 5 core values: Honesty, treat women with respect, and no drugs, stealing, or guns

This morning, @NFLCommish & I met w @Strong_TexasFB to discuss core values, game integrity, & college relations. Great meeting, great input.

.@Strong_TexasFB’s emphasis on character & respect over talent is molding the next generation of football talent. Standards are key.

Quite frankly, this was one of the best ideas that Vincent and Goodell could have come up with, and as Vincent stated, they had to come away with some great input from Strong by the time the meeting was over.
But still, the hard part is implementing the plan on this and that will be the real thing to watch going forward from here.
