The rookie wide receiver had his best game so far in his career when he was taken out in the second half with the injury. He had four catches for 65 yards as well as a touchdown. Evans was drafted No. 7 overall in the 2014 NFL Draft after a stellar two years at Texas A&M. He finished his 2013 season with 69 receptions for 1,394 yards and 12 touchdowns coming from his quarterback Johnny Manziel.
Evans was key for the Bucs in their first winning effort. Without Evans, the Bucs are left with Vincent Jackson, Louis Murphy and Robert Herron taking most of the load.
Tampa Bay has a bye week in three weeks, allowing for more recovery time for Evans if he needs it. The 1-3 Bucs will travel to a struggling 1-3 New Orleans Saints team next week followed by a home game against the Baltimore Ravens before the bye week. We’ll see if the 6’5 receiver can have a quick recovery.
