Ricky Rubio throws alley-oop to Andrew Wiggins in Dunks After Dark (Video)

While a handful of NBA teams held their media day on Monday, the Minnesota Timberwolves decided to do something a little different. Biting off the college game, the T’Wolves decided to hold ‘Dunks After Dark’ which included a scrimmage and dunk contest.

Even better? The entire show was free and those in attendance not only got up close and personal with talent like Ricky Rubio and Andrew Wiggins, they also were witlessness to the first alley-oop ever thrown by the Minnesota Timberwolves duo.
The modified scrimmage was essentially void of any sort of defense though that didn’t seem to bother those watching as they jumped out of their seat after Rubio, a passing wizard, lofted a floater towards the rim which Andrew Wiggins threw down with some authority.
This wasn’t the only time the two would hook up though as a few minutes later Ricky Rubio saw a streaking Wiggins running down the sideline. Still at half-court, Rubio knew he’d be out of position to get Andrew Wiggins the ball so he decided to fling a 45 foot pass to the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft who in turn brought the house down with a slam.
The flashy plays may not rack up the win total for the Minnesota Timberwolves though will certainly prove to be rather entertaining for a long time to come.
