For all baseball fans, the 2014 Major League Baseball postseason could not have gotten off to a better start on Tuesday night. With the win coming at home, it was amazing to watch the reaction of the Kansas City fans in attendance in Kauffman Stadium, and you can only assume that the entire city is in a complete state of jubilation Wednesday morning over their first playoff win since 1985.

So you would assume that the headline of the Kansas City Star Wednesday morning would be amazing, and it was, as it paid homage to Perez and his efforts with a great one-word headline.

Salvation, indeed.

Again, it was one of the best ways to get the baseball postseason kicked off, but now for Kansas City, it’s time to get back to business. They did what they had to do and won their one-game Wild Card playoff, but now they have a date with the Los Angeles Angeles in the ALDS.

Can they keep the magic going and make the Kansas City newspaper come up with some more creative headlines?
