If you happened to be watching the San Francisco Giants’ dismantling of the Pittsburgh Pirates during their Wild Card matchup on Wednesday night, you probably noticed something odd.

More from MLB Postseason

No, it wasn’t Hunter Pence in right field but rather a woman appearing to look lost in the San Francisco Giants’ dugout.

The wayward appearing woman, complete in a throwback #25 Pirates jersey with salt and pepper hair was seen gesturing to a security guard who looked beyond befuddled as to why the woman was in the dugout. Did we have a case of a rogue senior attempting to sabotage the San Francisco Giants?

Not hardly.

As weird as the situation looked to be on television, the woman actually had the right to be in the area as she was a credentialed member of the media. Of course it’s not very often (read: never) that you see a media member wearing a jersey which probably sent off some red flags. However, according to Cut4 she was simply attempting to pass a message along.

"As it turns out, she had a credential for access behind the scenes (just not The Dugout) and was simply trying to relay a message to a media representative in the nearby photographers’ well."

It’s difficult to see if the woman had any type of badge around her neck (it doesn’t look that way from the video) which is why the security guard appeared to be a bit confused as to why she was and why she was there.

Certainly one of the odder moments during the 2014 season.
