National League stolen base king Dee Gordon of the Los Angeles Dodgers has been cleared to play in Game 1 of the NL Division Series against the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday.

Gordon missed the regular-season finale with a hip injury, but according to Dylan Hernandez of The Los Angeles Times, via Twitter:

After falling flat in a couple of attempts to take the regular shortstop job, Gordon had a breakout campaign in 2014 at second base, earning his first All-Star Game bid.

He hit .289/.326/.378 and led the NL with 64 stolen bases and 12 triples. In 148 games, Gordon scored 92 runs and had 24 doubles, two home runs and 34 RBI.

Gordon, the son of former major-league pitcher Tom Gordon, did tail off slightly in the second half, hitting .284/.300/.348 in 57 games.

But he seemed to get it turned back on in September, hitting .303/.308/.371 for the month and scoring 19 runs.

Gordon was a fourth-round pick out of Seminole Community College in Florida by the Dodgers in 2008 and made his big league debut in June 2011.

After a promising 2011 during which he hit .304/.325/.362 in 56 games for L.A., Gordon slumped badly in 2012 and 2013. He combined to hit .229/.289/.285 in 125 games and spent a lot of time at Triple-A Albuquerque.
