According to Michael Willhoft of Isles Insight, the New York Islanders have now signed their second first-round pick (say that ten times fast) to an entry level contract. This contract is following the team’s signing of their first first-round pick, Michael Dal Colle, during the month of September.
Joshua Ho-Sang was a risky pick for the Islanders. Originally considered one of the highest caliber players in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Joshua Ho-Sang was on a number of teams’ no draft lists due to his arrogance and overall attitude. He subsequently fell to the 28th overall spot, being picked up by the Islanders only after they had selected another safer pick first.
While both Michael Dal Colle and Joshua Ho-Sang have been reassigned for the following year to their junior clubs; Michael Dal Colle will be headed back to the Oshawa Generals, while Joshua Ho-Sang will spend the season once again with the Windsor Spitfires.
The reassignment of both players comes as no surprise, as it was anticipated that many of this years’ draft picks would be longer-term projects. Joshua Ho-Sang’s contract might come as a bit of a shock to some, though. Guess he finally started to shape up his attitude a bit.
