You know, just Steve Perry singing with the San Francisco Giants fans

The San Francisco Giants’ offense didn’t give fans too much to cheer about during the team’s 4-1 loss to the Washington Nationals in Game Three of the NLDS. But with San Francisco still holding a 2-1 lead in the series, Giants fans had every reason to be optimistic and keep believing in their team, and were joined in a stadium-wide karaoke version of  “Don’t Stop Believing” by the song’s singer, former Journey lead vocalist Steve Perry.

In the eighth inning, when the Giants were trailing the Nationals 3-0, Perry sang his 1980’s hit along with the stadium’s sound system — and other Giants fans. Perry left Journey in 1998 and the band is surprisingly still active, and toured this summer with the Steve Miller Band.

But apparently not having to screech to thousands of fans in arenas has given Perry ample time to … sing his old hits with Giants fans in a playoff game.

Admittedly, he still seems to be able to get people jazzed up, though hopefully the excellent recent play of the Giants in the MLB playoffs (recent loss aside) is enough to get them excited.

San Francisco can still advance to the NLCS with a win in Game Four at home, or if necessary, in Game Five at Washington.
