It’s been a rough year for the NFL and it seems to get worse on a daily basis. Today is no different as former Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson delivered yet another black eye to the NFL as he was arrested n aggravated battery charges.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

Johnson, who spent nine seasons in the league decided to become a professional DJ after he hung up his cleats though it’s not known if he was working when he was arrested outside of a South Beach nightclub recently.

"Miami-Dade County jail records show that Johnson was booked at 7:33 a.m. Tuesday. He was being held on $7,500 bail.A Miami Beach police report says that Johnson cut another man with a broken bottle at a club in the Delano Hotel. Jail records did not list an attorney for him."

A star at Penn State, Larry Johnson entered the league to much fanfare and didn’t disappoint as he put up gaudy numbers for the Kansas City Chiefs in both 2005 and 2006. Injuries began to slow Larry Johnson’s career however and the running back eventually moved on to the Cincinnati Bengals before playing out the rest of his career with the Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins (where he logged a single rushing attempt).

Johnson is still the Kansas City Chiefs leader in both most career rushing attempts and most rushing yards in a single season (1,789). This of course isn’t the first time Larry Johnson has found himself on the wrong side of the law as he previously has been accused of disturbing the peace and domestic violence on more than one occasion.

Hopefully this arrest will be enough to get Larry Johnson’s life pointed back in the right direction though given his track record that seems questionable.
