Marvin Jones will not be able to play for the Cincinnati Bengals in week 6 due to an ankle injury.

At this point, it is not entirely clear who will be catching passes from Andy Dalton this weekend as his Bengals take on the Carolina Panthers. There is Mohamed Sanu, and one imagines that running back Giovani Bernard might be in line for approximately 50 touches in this game.

With A.J. Green out for Sunday’s game with turf toe and with his availability beyond that game iffy at best, the Bengals would really like to get wide receiver Marvin Jones back on the field. Jones has been out all season with a broken foot, and he will not be able to return in week 6 either due to an ankle injury.

According to Ian Rapoport:

Richard Skinner has more details on the status for Jones on cincinnati.com:

"Jones had just recovered from a broken foot he suffered on Aug. 9 and the Sept. 29 practice was the second he had participated since coming back. The ankle injury prevented him from practicing in the days leading up to this past Sunday’s game at New England and from playing in the game."

Jones has yet to play this season due to his continued troubles with injuries. He is coming off a 2013 season in which he caught 51 passes for 712 yards and 10 touchdowns. He would seem to be set up for success playing as the no. 2 option across from A.J. Green. The Bengals just need to get both of those guys back on the field healthy.
