Cincinnati Bengals’ star wide receiver A.J. Green could miss week 7
Good news and bad news for fans of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Per Bob Holtzman of ESPN, the lingering toe injury that has forced out All-Pro wide receiver A.J. Green won’t require any surgery, but it’s highly unlikely he’s on the field next Sunday when the Bengals take on the Indianapolis Colts.
Good news & bad news for @ajgreen_18. Told me his toe won't require surgery, but expects to miss week 7 too. Will see Doc again Friday.

Without Green, the Bengals’ passing offense rolled against the Carolina Panthers despite a tie. Stepping into a bigger role in Green’s absence, receiver and part-time quarterback Mohamed Sanu played up to an expectations placed upon him, tallying 120 yards on 10 receptions (on 14 targets) and one touchdown.
Opposite of Sanu, on-and-off receiver Brandon Tate also tallied a touchdown for Andy Dalton on one of his four receptions.
By Sanu and others playing well, this gives the Bengals coaching staff leeway in regards to not forcing Green back into action immediately. After all, this team has goals that far surpass regular season excellence — they want to win a Super Bowl — and throwing Green into the fire as his foot continues to be an issue would threaten that chance.
The Bengals currently stand at 3-1-1, atop the AFC North division.
