Percy Harvin Trade: Seattle Seahawks Called Buccaneers, Bengals And Browns
By Josh Hill
Percy Harvin is with the New York Jets now, but there were plenty of teams the Seattle Seahawks called to see if a trade was possible this past week.
The Seattle Seahawks surprisingly shipped wide receiver Percy Harvin off to the New York Jets on Friday afternoon, ending what was an unexpectedly short stint with the team. Harvin was acquired in 2013 from the Minnesota Vikings at the cost of three draft picks — one of them being a first rounder.

Seattle got less than that for Harvin but they apparently got the best deal on the market. According to New york Post reporter and Jets beat writer Manish Mehta, Seattle phoned up the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns to see if they’d be interested in making a deal.
Needless to say, none of the teams were interested enough to offer more than a conditional draft pick for the wide receiver. All three teams had big cap space to spare though, however all three seem to be front offices that prefer to build through the draft rather than acquire big name players.
Cincinnati seemed to be the best landing spot, as they need a receiving threat. Tampa Bay needs an identity and could have used Harvin to get back on the map while the Browns could have used Harvin to possibly keep their dream season going.
He landed in New York though, as the Jets will see if their gamble pays off or if it ends up costing lots of jobs this offseason.
