Ray Rice For Halloween? No Thanks

Some dude on Reddit decided to chronicle his friend’s night as Ray Rice in an early Halloween costume.

Is it the single most tasteless Halloween costume we have ever seen? Probably not. But a user on Reddit recently posted a few pictures documenting his friend’s night out as disgraced NFL running back Ray Rice.

Deadspin jumped all over this guy, and I am inclined to as well. If you actually like watching professional football, and want to see it thrive, then you should be saddened that people are taking this in such a mild manner. Domestic abuse is not okay, regardless of socioeconomic status or race. When people walk around in Ray Rice costumes, not only are they patronizing the NFL in a time when it should be judged to the harshest extent, but they are also trivializing a matter that has no business being taken lightly.

The blowup doll really seals this one. I already previously took to Twitter stating my opinion on the Rice situation, going as far as to say that under no circumstances should he play again this season. I can remain neutral about what happens on the field. And for the most part I am able to remain unbiased off of it. However, domestic violence is just one of those things it does more damage to remain silent about than not.

Nope. Still not funny in the slightest. Guess this writer is just a big ol’ stick in the mud. I doubt I am the only person that feelS this way. I am also positive I will not be the only one to bash it. Everyone is free to their own opinion on the matter. However, I remain steadfast in my belief that this is doing more harm to the sport than good.
