If Cincinnati Bengals’ quarterback Andy Dalton weren’t a kind-of-goofy redhead, would we insist on attaching the word “sneaky” to all the descriptions of his ability to run the football?
When Dalton rips off a decent gain on the ground, you get reminded that he is faster than you think. Because why would you think he’s fast? He’s sneaky fast.
When Dalton looks competent running with the football, as opposed to many of his awkward quarterback colleagues across the league, you get reminded that he is more athletic than you think he is. He is sneaky athletic.
Dalton did not necessarily run for a lot of yards on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, but he ran for key yards. He ran for 14 yards on six carries, but more importantly, he came through with two one-yard touchdowns. The first opened the scoring, and the second was the winning play as the Bengals won 27-24.

After a stretch of games in which they looked lost at times, the Bengals came through with a big win on Sunday. That was thanks in large part to the efforts of Andy Dalton, both throwing the ball and picking up key plays on the ground.
