OK, so defeating the Baltimore Ravens on a last-minute QB sneak from Andy Dalton doesn’t rival the Battle of Britain, but Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis feels that Sunday’s 27-24 win was, indeed, his team’s “finest hour” this season.

“I thought we played better really,” said Lewis. “We didn’t play as good as you guys said we did in the three wins,” he said.

Bengals fans may agree, considering that the win marked the first time Cincinnati won a game since routing the Tennessee Titans on September 21, yet the win may have done wonders toward keeping their season from completely getting away from them.

The Bengals held the Ravens to just 294 total yards, while also cooling off Baltimore QB Joe Flacco, who was held to 17 of 34 passing for 187 yards and two interceptions. Cincinnati’s defense also held its ground in the red zone, allowing just two scores in five trips by the Ravens offense.

While Dalton didn’t throw a touchdown pass, he was accurate, completing 21 of his 28 attempts for 239 yards while also running for two touchdowns. The Bengals’ offense had struggled without the services of Pro Bowl WR A.J. Green, having been shut out by the Indianapolis Colts the week prior. Green, who had missed the last two games with a toe injury, is expected back when Cincinnati welcomes the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon.

The Bengals will enter the game with a 4-2-1 record, placing them first in the AFC North.
