Wide receiver A.J. Green hasn’t played since Oct. 5, but was back at practice Wednesday, hopeful he will be able to go when the Cincinnati Bengals play at home Sunday.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since he re-aggravated his injured big toe before an Oct. 8 practice.

Green has missed four of Cincinnati’s last six games with the injury. In the three games he has played, he has 17 receptions on 26 targets for 314 yards and two touchdowns.

A Pro Bowler in each of his first three seasons in the NFL, Green had 98 catches on 178 targets last season for 1,426 yards and 11 touchdowns. The receptions and yardage totals were career highs and the touchdown grabs matched a career best.

According to Bengals.com. Green said he’s not sure how his toe will respond to his first practice in three weeks, but added that if he is cleared to play, it won’t be on a limited basis.

"“If I’m healthy, I’m playing,” Green said. “If I’m playing, I’m playing all the snaps. If I’m going, I’m going.”"

Green wore a new shoe in practice, but said the shoe isn’t a real factor with the injury, saying it’s the tape job that is the most crucial element going forward.

"“It is tough, because sometimes you don’t know how it feels,” Green said. “Some days it feels good, sometimes it doesn’t. It’s just about managing it."

He only participated in individual drills and ran some routes Wednesday.

"“I’m just going to go day-by-day and do a little more (Thursday). I think I’ll be fine, but we’ll just take it day-by-day.“I have to take care of my body. I have a long career ahead of me. I don’t want anything serious lingering when I can just rest it to make it feel better.”"

Green was the fourth overall pick by the Bengals in the 2011 NFL Draft out of Georgia.

Cincinnati hosts the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday and then is home for the Cleveland Browns the following Thursday.
