The Minnesota Twins are expected to debut a new home uniform for the 2015 season which will be void of any pinstripes for the first time in nearly thirty years.

For the first time since 1987, the Minnesota Twins uniform will be void of pinstripes as the team is preparing to debut a new look.

That’s the word from Ken Chia of the Star Tribune who says the new jersey will be unveiled in the relatively near future, likely at some point next week.

SportsLogos.net also confirmed the news which was broken by Chia.

It’s believed the cream throwback jersey (sometimes referred to as the Twins’ heritage jersey) that the team wears will continue on as a home alternate jersey. The current road and navy blue uniform will also remain unchanged as it’s only the home jersey that will be given an updated look.

As to what can be expected, as noted above the pinstripes will be no longer. Also the Minnesota Twins plan to add a golden color as a shadow to their current workmark. The script of the wordmark is believed to be the same however the colors will be changed.

In addition it’s believed the Minnesota Twins will be adding a gold trimmed hat though it’s not known if it will be a home/road cap or if it will just be an alternate look at this time. Given the home jersey will use some form of gold however it seems as if the new cap would match with the home jersey.

By no stretch is it a complete uniform overhaul though the loss of the famed Minnesota Twins pinstripes is a pretty big shocker.
