The special teams tried to do their part, jarring the ball loose from returner Jim Leonhard and recovering the fumble in the first half of this game. Even with this play, however, the Bengals found themselves behind by a score of 14-3 in the first half and needing to dig out of a hole with a quarterback who looks helpless. That is not a good formula for a game on a national stage with first place on the line.
