For all of the negative stories in the
lately, there are plenty of good ones and there is one better than the love and support the league (and many others) has shown for Cincinnati Bengals’ defensive tackle Devon Still and his sick daughter Leah Still.
The Bengals kept Still on their practice squad after releasing him (and soon put him on their active roster) so he could have the insurance to pay for his daughter’s treatment. Then, NFL players, coaches and fans begin buying his jersey in order to raise money for his daughter’s cause.
She has been in a Philadelphia hospital for treatement after having surgery to remove cancerous tumors as part of her fight against stage 4 neuroblastoma. However, on Thursday, she got to fly to Cincinnati on Wednesday so that she could attend her father’s game against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night. There were cameras on hand to see their touching reunion.
