Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins suffered a slight knee hyperextension during last night’s Thursday Night Football but it only seems to be minor.
The Cincinnati Bengals were demolished by the Cleveland Browns last night and as if that wasn’t bad enough, star defensive tackle Geno Atkins had to leave the game when they were trailing 24-3 after a knee injury on the same knee that he tore the ACL in last year against the Miami Dolphins.
NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport said that Atkins’ injury is only minor as it was a slight hyperextension.

Geno Atkins was an All-Pro last year and has been a bright spot in a Cincinnati Bengals defense this year that has struggled immensely and is ranked 30th in the NFL. While it’s not sure how long Geno Atkins will be out, the Cincinnati Bengals will look to Devon Still and Brandon Thompson to fill the gap.
With the lost to the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night football, the Cincinnati Bengals drop to 5-3-1 on the year and third in the AFC North Division behind the Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bengals will have three straight away games following Thursday night’s loss as they will travel to New Orleans, then Houston, then Tampa Bay before returning home for an important divisional game against the Steelers. Hopefully Atkins will be ready to go for the next game and try to help a struggling defense.
