NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kurt Busch is facing a probe for domestic assault, according to reports.
This is not what NASCAR needed after a brawl between Jeff Gordon and Brad Keselowski back on Sunday. And it is not what the sport needed after an accident involving Tony Stewart killed driver Kevin Ward earlier this season.

Kurt Busch, the 2004 Sprint Cup Series Champion is facing an investigation for an alleged domestic assault on his ex-girlfriend Patricia Driscoll. The latter claims that the altercation occurred at a race from inside Busch’s motor-home.
If found guilty, this would not be the first incident involving the former champion. His nickname around the sport, “The Outlaw,” is somewhat fitting as Busch has had several altercations with fellow drivers and NASCAR officials.
Two years ago, Busch threatened a member of the media and was subsequently suspended for a full weekend of races. Earlier that same year, he was involved in an incident with fellow series driver Ryan Newman’s crew. For that he was issued a $50,000 fine.
Delaware police officials released the following statement earlier today. “At this time, the department is still investigating the victim’s claims and will not have any further comment on this matter in order to preserve the integrity of the case.” Charges have yet to be pressed on Busch.
