There’s nothing worse than dropping a wide open pass for a touchdown or showboating and literally dropping the ball before you cross the goal line.
Right behind that is fumbling just inches before you score, something Bryce Brown of the Buffalo Bills knows all too well after today.
Just feet from plowing through for a touchdown, the Buffalo Bills backup running back had the ball punched out of his grasp by the Kansas City Chiefs. That lead to the pigskin bouncing around in epic fashion as multiple members from both teams attempted to pounce on the lost ball.
So how did it all end? Well, by the looks of the video you can see a member of the Buffalo Bills attempt to jump on the ball before it lands out of bounds. Alas, he wasn’t able to secure the rock as it dribbled out of bounds and Bryce Brown’s would be touchdown was ruled as a touchback.
Every score (or in this case, non-score) is vital in an NFL game though this one seems to be magnified as a potential touchdown would have given the Buffalo Bills a 17-3 lead. However the loss of possession allowed the Kansas City Chiefs to stay in the contest and the score remained tight at 13-3 through the first half of the third quarter.
