When the Detroit Lions opened the season there were questions about who would begin then season as the starting running back. Such was quickly answered by Joique Bell who has played at a high level and has proven himself to be the power rusher the team needs.
In case anybody forget, he reminded the masses against Miami Dolphins cornerback Cortland Finnegan.
With Bell running down the sideline, the always mouthy Finnegan decided he’d attempt to stop him with a tackle. It was a good thought though poorly executed as Joique Bell completely unloaded on Finnegan, steamrolling him in abusive fashion.
I mean, there is getting rolled over and then there is getting rolled over.
Did somebody get the license plate of that guy? Goodness.
Using a move straight out of a video game, the Detroit Lions running back lowered his shoulder and completely ran over Cortland Finnegan as if he was nothing more than a leaf in the wind, leaving him plastered on the Ford Field turf like a piece of roadkill.
Thankfully it appears as if the only thing hurt on the play was Finnegan’s pride as he certainly took a rather embarrassing tumble.
It’s not often that we see an offensive player unleash the beast on a hit like that as they’re usually reserved for defensive talent, though if the whole running back thing doesn’t work out for Bell he may have second life as a linebacker.
