Denver Nuggets rookie Gary Harris had a monster dunk during his NBA debut but his mother, sitting in the stands, woefully missed it.

Dealing with injury and simply a deep roster, Gary Harris who was the 19th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft had yet to play in a game this season prior to Friday night.
That all changed though as Harris was not only active for the contest (the first time this season), but he also drew significant playing time in the process.
Drafted by the Chicago Bulls and later traded to the Denver Nuggets, Harris was made aware of his upcoming NBA debut in plenty of time to get his mother to the arena where she watched her son play 18 minutes of action. Obviously a storybook moment, right?
Well, kind of though Harris might have to rib his mother for the next few years as she apparently missed an epic dunk during the 4th quarter of the contest against the Indiana Pacers.
With Harris streaking along the sideline, the guard/forward hit the afterburners and flew by his defender. That left an opening in which Gary Harris elevated and dunked around (and partially over) three defenders who were all attempting to block the shot.
Understandably the Denver Nuggets crowd went wild and the camera operator, knowing Harris’ mother was in the crowd panned to her in hopes of getting her reaction.
There was a reaction, no doubt, but not the kind that was expected as Harris’ mom could be seen mouthing “I missed it” in disbelief.
Thankfully she’ll be able to watch the highlight play over and over on replay though that will never be as memorable as watching it live.
Should be an eventful Thanksgiving at the Harris household.
“Mom, pass the potatoes, you know since you missed my dunk.”
