If Johnny Manziel had any intentions of playing football this year, he may need to wait for an injury as Cleveland Browns starter Brian Hoyer continues to play an impressive game.
No, Hoyer isn’t lighting up the box score though he makes the correct play more often than not as was evident on this bootleg pass.
With Hoyer flushed out, there he found wide receiver Andrew Hawkins who had nothing but green field separating him from a touchdown. That allowed Brian Hoyer to dump off a quick pass to Hawkins who hit the burners and streaked towards the end zone.
Of course nothing is completely easy and that’s when Hawkins was met by two defenders at the corner of the end zone. He could have attempted to leap over the pylon though the wide reciever opted to take the hit and go straight forward into both players.
Shockingly though he was able to avoid a significant amount of contact as he split through both players en route to the score.
The touchdown gave the Cleveland Browns their first points of the game and was shockingly created because Houston Texans defender J.J. Watt extended the drive with his second roughing the punter call on the day.
