Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson could return to the field in Week 12 despite the NFL‘s suspension ruling.

Although the NFL suspended Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson without pay on Tuesday morning, that doesn’t mean he won’t be on the field this weekend.

Sound a little odd? There’s no denying that, but ESPN’s Ed Werder says the All-Pro could return to the field soon as this weekend as he appeals the NFL’s suspension.

The thought process here is that Adrian Peterson could win his grievance allowing him to be removed off the Commissioner-Exempt list, in turn putting him in position to play while the appeal process is handled.

Such was also stated by fellow NFL reporter Albert Breer.

While the logistics seem to indicate such is possible, it seems as if the NFL would probably do what they could to keep Adrian Peterson off the field. They certainly don’t want the Minnesota Vikings activating their running back which would all but go against their Tuesday morning ruling and it’s likely the Vikings would prefer not to be put in such a situation.

Still it doesn’t appear as if the drama surrounding Adrian Peterson is coming to an end in the near future.

How would you handle such if you were the Minnesota Vikings front office, FanSided readers? Would you go against the league and allow your franchise running back on the field? Or would you play nice with the NFL and keep your star talent away from the team until a final ruling has been agreed upon? Doesn’t appear to be an enviable situation for the Vikings.
