By the time the Buffalo Bills take the field on Sunday afternoon, Ralph Wilson Stadium will likely have experienced seven feet of snow over the past few days. So far the Buffalo Bills home has already been blanketed in four feet of the white stuff and stadium staff has removed 220,000 tons of snow.
Sounds bad, right? It’s so bad in fact that players and coaches can’t even get to Ralph Wilson Stadium so the Buffalo Bills can’t even practice. To make matters even crazier the NFL is reviewing the weather reports leading up to the game to make sure it’s safe to be played.
In effort to clear the powder, the Buffalo Bills are now reaching out to the public and hiring those willing to shovel snow.
Simply put, there’s so much snow not even the Buffalo Bills grounds crew and stadium maintenance can remove all of it in time considering they’re still dealing with the original four feet of snow. Add in an additional three feet and you’d nee a winter thaw or the muscle of hundreds to clear it all out in time for Sunday.
Thankfully the Buffalo Bills are well adapted to blizzard-like conditions and can handle the situation better than most, but it seems even they’re a bit taken back by the amount of precipitation they’ve received.
The free tickets to the game are a nice touch on behalf of the Buffalo Bills as well, though hopefully they come with a free heater too as it looks like those in attendance will need one (or several).
