It’s not only the NFL who is questioning if the New York Jets-Buffalo Bills game should go on as scheduled Sunday afternoon, so is New York Governor Andrew Cuomo who suggests such isn’t possible.
After being plummeted by four-plus feet of snow over the past few days, Upstate New York is again expecting more white stuff tonight and in the coming days. All together Buffalo could amass seven-plus feet of snow by the time the system moves through which has resulted in a travel ban.
The Buffalo Bills haven’t even been able to get to the practice facility due to the blizzard-like condition which has the NFL pondering potentially moving the game back and/or to a different locale as Toronto, Detroit and New Jersey have been mentioned.
That seems to go along with the thought process of Andrew Cuomo who suggests its “impractical” to play the game as scheduled on Sunday.
“If you asked me today, my two cents would be it’s impractical to do the game,” Cuomo said.
“We’ll do everything we can to deploy resources to make it possible, but now we’re focused on public safety.”
Even before the latest round of storms is to hit, workers at the Buffalo Bills’ Ralph Wilson Stadium had removed over 220,000 tons of snow and will have more coming their way. The situation has become so bad, the Bills have offered up $10 dollars an hour and free game tickets to those willing to shovel the white stuff in effort to make the stadium game ready.
It’s expected the NFL will make a final decision on the game by tomorrow afternoon, though if the snow doesn’t let up you have to assume the game will be pushed back or relocated.
