Although Kevin Durant isn’t on the court for the Oklahoma City Thunder, the reigning NBA MVP has had time to partake in events around the city which include meeting up with young children.
Durant, one of the nicest guys in the league routinely goes out of his way to show up at events and basketball camps and often hangs around to sign as many autographs as possible.
Of course, that doesn’t mean the Thunder small forward lacks a sense of humor or an unwillingness to crush the dreams of young children.
Yes, for whatever reason Durant thought it would be hilarious (and it was) to emphatically reject the shot of a child who probably wasn’t any taller than three foot.
As the two stood on the court with a collection of children watching, the young boy stepped back and with all his might attempted to push his shot towards the basket. He wouldn’t have come within ten feet most likely given it took all his energy just to elevate the shot, but that’s when Kevin Durant struck like a flash of lightning out of the sky.
No more than a half second after the young boy released his shot, Durant stepped in and powerfully rejected the attempt sending it into the crowd of young children watching.
Hilarious as that was, the best might actually be the other young child in the audience who the ball bounces towards and hits. After deflecting it out of his way, the little guy pumps his first in the air – either extremely thrilled that his buddy just got obliterated or that a ball Kevin Durant just spiked backwards smacked him in the face.
He may have had the best day of anybody in the building.
