A thrilling NFL season is entering the final stretch. For some teams, post season glory still seems like a reasonable end to the season, for others their fate has already been pre-determined.
But fans have come out in droves to support their team and wear their colors, which includes buying jerseys of your favorite player. The Jersey Report, which tracks the sales of NFL jerseys at DICK’s Sporting Goods stores around the nation and online, has identified which markets sell the most jerseys.
You might be surprised to see that Charlotte is atop the list. Not one of the biggest cities in the NFL, and home to the Carolina Panthers, a team that hasn’t been a staple for success in the league over the past twenty years, going to the playoffs just five times. Last season they were 12-4 and had a stellar campaign that ended quickly in the playoffs, that could’ve led to some optimism in the fan base which turned into jersey sales.
Cleveland is enjoying a resurgent year with the Browns, and that could be fueling their jersey sales. Cleveland comes in at No. 4 on the list. The Super Bowl defending Seahawks come in at just No. 9 on the list.
Here are the 10 best jersey selling markets in the NFL:
- Charlotte
- Indianapolis
- Denver
- Cleveland
- Chicago
- Baltimore
- Pittsburgh
- New York
- Seattle
- Philadelphia
