Football coaches aren’t often known for their sartorial style, but Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson takes it to new levels Sunday.

The purpose of wearing a headband is to keep one’s ears warm on a chilly day and to the functionality end of things, Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson has it nailed.

But from a standpoint of style? C’mon, man.

It appears Jackson didn’t pay a lot of attention to the location of the logo, other than to make sure it’s in front.

But upside down, coach? Really?

I suppose having Andy Dalton as your quarterback can give a coach that upside-down feeling sometimes. Dalton can be really good or really bad and you never really know from week to week which it’s going to be.

Against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Dalton has mostly been Good Andy. Through most of the third quarter, Dalton is 16-for-20 for 181 yards and a touchdown passing and has also run for a 20-yard touchdown, but the Bengals trail the Steelers 17-14 late in the third period.

Jackson is in his first year as the Bengals’ offensive coordinator, taking over from Jay Gruden when Gruden departed to become head coach of the Washington Redskins.

It’s Jackson’s third year in this stint with the Bengals. He was an assistant special teams and secondary coach in 2012 and the running backs coach last season.

He was also the last coach to have a non-losing season as head coach of the Oakland Raiders, leading them to an 8-8 record in his lone season in that post in 2011.
