The Detroit Lions unloaded on Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh McCown turning him into human roadkill.

More from Detroit Lions

It’s been said the Detroit Lions have one of the most talented defensive front sevens in the NFL. Some might even go as far as to say they are the best in the NFL.

Differing opinions or not, there’s no denying the Lions’ defense is an intimidating force, most of due to their talent, some of it thanks to some questionable tactics which some may call dirty. Regardless, the Detroit Lions routinely rush the quarterback with reckless abandonment, something Tampa Bay Buccaneers signal caller Josh McCown found out the hard way on Sunday afternoon.

Facing a 2nd and goal with under a minute left in the first half, McCown hiked the ball and looked for an open wide receiver. He didn’t have much time as the Detroit Lions immediately found themselves in the backfield and with the corners caving in, the Bucs quarterback was left in a terrible position.

He could try to scramble and likely get crunched or he could sit in the pocket and try to milk an extra half second or so in effort to find an open receiver.

That half second wasn’t available though as multiple Detroit Lions players came up the middle and absolutely plundered the quarterback turning him into human roadkill.

Ouch.

The hit itself was nasty enough, but there was so much force you can literally see Josh McCown bounce off the Ford Field turf.

Pretty sure that’s going to leave a mark for the next day or month.
