Fox Sports’ NFL insider Jay Glazer calls ESPN “lying bastards” for stealing his story about Johnny Manziel being named the Cleveland Browns starting quarterback.

More from Cleveland Browns

By now you’ve heard Johnny Manziel will start at quarterback in Week 15 for the Cleveland Browns against the Cincinnati Bengals.

But who did you hear it from? ESPN?

They claim to have broken the story, but Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer says that’s not the case. In fact, Glazer says it was he who broke the news of Johnny Manziel being named the Browns starting quarterback and called the Worldwide Leader a ‘lying bastard’ in the process.

Glazer took to Twitter to express his frustration with ESPN.

Ouch. This is of course isn’t the first time ESPN has been accused of swiping another reporters story and suggesting it to be their own. In fact, it seems as if it happens rather often which could be the reason as to why Glazer is understandably so frustrated.

Jay Glazer did point out there are “many” good people at ESPN and the tweet wasn’t directed at them individually, just that the network should properly cite their stories and obviously not steal from another reporter.

Granted, in a time where social media breaks news at a rapid pace it’s difficult to give somebody credit for ‘breaking’ a story, however given the reputation being accumulated by ESPN you may have to side with Glazer.
