The Cincinnati Bengals have announced that they will be getting a brand new video board to enhance the experience at Paul Brown Stadium.

Size matters in the NFL when it comes to scoreboards, and the Cincinnati Bengals will become the latest team to ditch their old scoreboard in favor of something much more impressive.

According to Dan Horn of the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Bengals will be installing a $10 million video board. The video board is being installed in an effort to improve the gameday experience at Paul Brown Stadium.

The video board was approved on a 3-0 vote Wednesday by county commissioners.

From the report:

"The vote was expected because the scoreboard is part of a broader deal the county and the Bengals reached last year on improvements to Paul Brown Stadium and riverfront development. As part of the agreement, the Bengals will pay about $4 million toward improvements that the team’s lease otherwise would have required the county to cover, including part of the scoreboard renovation."

You can see where this may not be as exciting for the taxpayers.

With the Bengals paying only $4 million towards renovations, the team needs to find a way to cover the remainder of the costs. The $4 million is not going only towards the video board either, so the taxpayers will need to pay $7.5 million of the $10 million project.

Yikes.
