It’s been a rough year for the Houston Texans despite a solid 7-6 record as not only did they lose Jadevon Clowney for the season, they’ve now lost quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick as the signal caller suffered what is likely a broken leg against the Indianapolis Colts.
Fitzpatrick, attempting to avoid the pass rush, became tangled up with two Colts defenders and had his leg rolled over on. He was in obvious pain soon as he was hit and ended up being carted off the field.
It’s a pretty gnarly injury, so if you’re not into watching that type of thing I highly suggest you look away.
The injury forced the Houston Texans to bring in rookie quarterback Tom Savage who has come in and played well in his first extended action. It’s likely he’ll continue to handle the starting quarterback duties for the Houston Texans as Ryan Fitzpatrick is not expected this season.
As for Fitzpatrick, while the team will continue to put the signal caller through tests, the indications are that the quarterback did indeed break his leg which puts a hefty damper on the Houston Texans’ playoff hopes.
