The Cleveland Browns, who were shutout by the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon, were hilariously trolled by Papa John’s Pizza.

Local Cleveland Papa John’s Pizza chains probably went into Week 15 of the NFL season feeling as if their ’50 percent off’ promo was going to be a hit.
All that the Cleveland Browns needed to do was score a single point against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon and fans would be able to get half off their entire order. Hell of a deal, right? Even if the Browns had some strange blunder, they’d certainly be able to kick a field goal or secure a safety. Something, anything, right?
Well, as we learned, that was far more difficult than anticipated as the Cleveland Browns, in Johnny Manziel’s first career NFL start, were shut out 30-0.
That meant the half-off pizza code from Papa John’s was not valid, at least in regards to the terms of the e-mail promotion.
The funny part? This wasn’t sent out on Sunday afternoon, the pizza chain delivered the promotion to inbox’s on Monday morning, well after the Cleveland Browns were shutout.
Perhaps somebody in the marketing department isn’t a big fan of football? Or possibly more likely they’re a Cincinnati Bengals fan and decided to have some fun at the expense of Browns faithful? Whatever the case, it’s a pretty rough blunder.
Hopefully Papa John’s will still honor the code even though the Cleveland Browns didn’t hold up their end of the bargain.
