Johnny Manziel May Wear New Visor As Defense Read His Eyes
By Bryan Rose
Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel may wear a new visor as it’s possible the opposing defense was able to read his eyes too easily during his first NFL start.

No, Johnny Manziel did not play well in his first career NFL start for the Cleveland Browns. But might it have been an equipment failure that helped in the woeful play? Sounds almost like an excuse, but there may be more to it than meets the eye – literally.
That’s the belief of Jason La Canfora who says Johnny Manziel may change his helmet visor because opposing linebackers were reading his eyes too easily last week.
Easily as defenders were lighting up Johnny Manziel’s passing routes, it’s actually a sentiment that does make some sense. However, most NFL quarterback’s don’t play with a helmet visor so even if that’s the case, Johnny Manziel needs to do a better job of looking off receivers and not starting them down – visor or not. The rookie quarterback reportedly struggled during Cleveland Browns practice this past week as well, though wasn’t as bad as the previous week where it was said he only completed about 40 percent of his passes. That can’t be blamed on the defense being able to watch eyes through the helmet visor but rather poor decision making and unstable pocket presence. Still, it should be interesting to see if Johnny Manziel does indeed change up his helmet visor and if the defense is able to read his passes as well in comparison to his first NFL start. Update: Dark visor, it is.
