Fortunately, Green shrugged off suggestions he wouldn’t play.
“I was just trying to fight through it and just go whenever they needed me,” Green said, per the Cincinnati Enquirer. “I couldn’t move it. It’s just a bruise.”
Despite the flesh wound, it appears Green won’t miss time with the injury.
“I think I’ll be fine,” he said.
The Bengals had better hope Green is fine if they want to go on the road and keep up with one of the league’s best offenses. The Steelers feature a top five player in statistical output at the quarterback, receiver and running back positions this year. The Bengals have similar explosive potential, but that’s been far less consistent than that found in Heinz Field.
The Week 17 tilt has been flexed into a Sunday Night start. If the teams lock in an improbable tie, the 10-4-1 Bengals will also take the division crown.
