Watch enough NBA games and you’ll see mascots around the league doing crazy and wild things. Most of them are planned and extremely well executed, though there’s some concern a recent stunt from Denver Nuggets mascot ‘Rocky’ didn’t exactly go as planned.
Everything looked as if it was staying true to form as the mountain lion-like creature, dressed in a tutu, stood atop a balance beam.
But that’s where things took an odd turn as Rocky’s oversized feet began to shake like a true amateur and he then lost his footing on the balance beam. That wasn’t bad enough as the Denver Nuggets mascot feel directly onto his kibble and bits in a horrific fashion.
Now, if you watch the video enough times you’ll notice that Rocky seemingly falls with his legs wide upon almost on purpose. Of course, I’m not wearing a massive plush suit nor do I know the gravitational pull of such, so perhaps he (or she) accidentally fell that way.
Yes, there’s plenty of reason to believe it was staged considering how the Denver Mascots mascot fell but I don’t care how much padding you had there – there could have been a memory foam mattress – that still looked extremely painful.
Staged or not, I can’t stop watching, especially the moment where Rocky is sitting flush on the beam with the once happy smile quickly erased in pain.
