Athletes are known to do strange things from time to time, especially if the end result is positive.
Case in point, here’s Denver Nuggets point guard Nate Robinson randomly rubbing multiple teammates heads on the bench, much to their irritation.
The pint-sized point, standing next to Randy Foye can be seen watching the action on the floor as the Nuggets played defense against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Then for whatever reason, the Tacoma native silently creeps his arm up behind Foye and another Denver Nuggets teammate and starts rubbing their head.
We’ve seen this happen plenty of times before, especially in recent months as Hunter Pence of the San Francisco Giants began rubbing teammates heads in the dugout during their World Series run. Oddly enough, it seemed to work well for Pence so perhaps Nate Robinson decided to bring the oddity over to the NBA side of things.
The point of it all? It doesn’t seem as if anybody knows. Perhaps it’s Robinson just being an irritating gnat and harassing his friends. Perhaps he’s looking for some good luck. Whatever the case, nobody really seemed appreciative on his random head massage.
Maybe he’d be better served helping out ‘Rocky’, the Denver Nuggets mascot who nearly broke their groin in two after they fell off this balance beam recently.
