On the day, starting QB Charlie Whitehurst was just 12-28 passing with 72 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT, and a passer rating of 62.2. RB Shonn Greene add 94 yards on the ground on just 11 carries. Colts QB Andrew Luck continued adding to his monster season with another 2 TD through the air to go along with a 160 yards on just 11-16 passing to the tune of a 135.4 passer rating.
It is widely believed that the top two picks of the draft will be University of Oregon QB Marcus Mariota and Florida State QB Jameis Winston. The last two Heisman Trophy Award winners just so happen to meet on New Year’s Day in the 2015 Rose Bowl game, which serves as a college football playoff semi-final.
With the second pick locked up, one could very well assume the Titans will look in the direction of Winston, as Mariota will likely be taken with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘s number one overall selection. Despite somewhat consistent play this year, Whitehurst is probably out as the starter in Tennessee.
