ESPN radio host Dan Dakich had an expected prank caller in former New England Patriots tight end Christian Fauria.

In what can only be described as a form of getting into the festive mood, former New England Patriots tight end Christian Fauria decided to call into an ESPN radio program hosted by Dan Dakich, just ahead of Sunday’s AFC Championship game. In an attempt to prank the show’s host, Fauria ultimately ended up on the wrong side of a verbal lashing courtesy of Dakich, which helped make for some great radio — something you hear far too little of these days.

Meanwhile, this will be the fourth consecutive AFC Championship game appearance for Bill Belichick and company, as Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts will look to advance to the franchises’s first Super Bowl since 2010. Back then, a man by the name of Peyton Manning was under center for the team, while Luck was still at Stanford playing for a head coach that has since been in and out of the NFL himself in Jim Harbaugh.

You probably did not expect to be reading Christian Fauria’s name in 2015. It’s been nine seasons since he was last playing for the Patriots and he’s not what you’d call a relevant NFL veteran. Yet here he is, pranking radio stations and continuing to rep his old team.

Even Pats fans have probably forgotten about about a guy whose peak was in the 2002 season, when he caught 27 passes for 253 yards and 7 scores. Though his receptions went up the very next year, he produced just 6 more TDs in his remaining three seasons with the team.

Nevertheless, his prank calling game remains as on point as ever, as the former Patriots tight end is still defending his team as though he was still right there with them.
