Ever since late 2011, a cloud of scandal has reigned over the NCAA football program of Penn State University. When retired Nittany Lions defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Jerry Sandusky was found to be guilty of a string of child molestation incidents ranging from 1994-2009 in early 2012, it all but assured the legacy of those great Penn State teams from Joe Paterno’s era as head coach would be forever tarnished.

In fact, Paterno himself was stripped of 111 wins from 1998-2011.

Yet despite the sanctions on scholarships that would follow, and the continued investigations on the happenings at PSU from that time period, the NCAA appeared to relent somewhat.

The postseason ban for Penn State has recently ended, and apparently, so has Paterno’s exile from the peak of the college football wins summit. As part of a plea deal for the $60 million in lawsuit funds to be spent exclusively within the state of Pennsylvania, the NCAA will restore every single one of Paterno’s wins, the organization announced on Friday. This would move him back up to first all time among Division I head coaches.

Naturally, there were quite a few critics on this ruling. You can name Keith Olbermann among them.

Below is a video clip in which the outspoken ESPN personality shares his opinions on the matter. For those of you interested in watching, skip to 2:01 to see the segment in question.
