Marcus Mariota receives awesome tribute video

The Register-Guard released a video in tribute to Marcus Mariota’s spectacular NCAA football career at the University of Oregon.

Marcus Mariota will be heading into the 2015 NFL Draft, and is projected by many to be either the class’s first or second overall selection. His career at the University of Oregon will likely go down as one of the best in college football history.

During his time with the Ducks, Mariota won 36 games and lost just five. He also threw for 10,796 yards and 105 touchdowns against just 14 interceptions, and posted a 66.8 completion percentage. His 135 total touchdowns are a PAC-12 conference record, as are the his total offense (5,224) and touchdowns (58) from the 2014 season. This past year, he was rewarded with the Heisman Trophy Award and captained his team to a birth in the first ever College Football Playoff National Championship against Ohio State.

Because of all that he has done for his school, the Oregon Register-Guard created a video tribute for the departing redshirt junior.

The video features statements made by fellow players and coaches on the team that can attest to the character and leadership of their storied quarterback. Perhaps the most frequent compliment towards Mariota is not about his level of play on field, but about the poise and demeanor with which he operates. He is likely to be scouted as much as any other player over these next few months, and if we were NFL general managers here at Fansided, it would probably be wise of us to take a look at this video.
