Michigan trolled by Ohio State ahead of signing day (photo)

Ohio State’s Brutus Buckeye trolled the University of Michigan Twitter account just in time for signing day on Wednesday.

National signing day. A time when NCAA football starts the cycle all over again. Yes, on January 12th, the 2014 season concluded. With it, the first ever college football playoff, and by extension, the inaugural CFP National Champions, the Ohio State Buckeyes. As schools line up and prepare to finalize the signings of the nation’s top high school players, the fans and media alike take it all in, as they prepare for another season of Saturday football in the Fall. Well, leave it to the reigning champs to troll their historic rival, the University of Michigan, just ahead of Wednesday’s announcements.

Michigan’s recruiting class this season is just 72nd in the nation, as opposed to Ohio State’s 7th ranked squad, according to Rivals.com. You better believe OSU is not about to let that talking point go unnoticed. Michigan still tried to promote signing day through their athletics page on Twitter. Just when you could not get more pumped for the 2015 college football season, the sport’s biggest rivalry heats back up. The Wolverines have started the rebuilding process by hiring their former quarterback Jim Harbaugh as head coach. Harbaugh, who spent the previous 4 seasons in the NFL as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, knows a thing or two about winning at the collegiate level.

In addition to his three consecutive NFC Championship appearances in the pros, he also turned around two separate Division I programs. During his time with the San Diego Toreros at the FCS level, Harbaugh turned a 7-4 into a back to back 11 win program. Then, with Stanford, he took a 4-8 Cardinal team in 2007, and led them to 12 wins, an Orange Bowl win, and the #4 final AP and coaches ranking during the 2010 FBS season.

With Harbaugh at the helm, Michigan vs. Ohio State becomes perhaps as great a coaching battle as we have seen between the two since Bo Schembechler and Woody Hayes were still active.
