Texas finished with the nation’s No. 17 recruiting class last year, which is pretty respectable considering the coaching change that took place with Mack Brown out and Strong in after flirting with Alabama’s Nick Saban.
This year’s class is poised to finish much higher than last year with commitments from No. 10 prospect and No. 1 outside linebacker Malik Jefferson and the signing day addition of four-star running back Chris Warren.
In two-three years we could be looking back at Texas’ 2015 recruiting class as the one that brought the Longhorns back to national prominence. They didn’t get five-star Daylon Mack, but they had a 29-member class that ranks No. 11 after falling two spots on signing day, but still own the best class in the Big 12.
