Multiple sources have told Sports Illustrated’s Grant Wahl the change will be made
There has been a lot of speculation regarding the 2022 World Cup ever since it’s host was announced. Qatar is one of the hottest countries in the world, and as such should never host a tournament that is played outdoors during the summer.

There was wide spread condemnation of the decision to allow the Middle Eastern country to host the biggest sporting event in the world, with conditions being described as inhumane.
It is felt by most around the footballing world that their was bribery involved in the World Cup bidding process, it’s the only explanation.
Suggestions of switching the host nation were coming left right and center, but FIFA wouldn’t hear anything about such an idea. There were also reports that the competition would be played in the winter for the first time ever, this seems to be solution to such a daft decision of Soccer’s governing body.
Sports Illustrated tweeted out that multimple sources have told Grant Wahl that the competition will be moved from Summer to Winter.
How this will effect domestic leagues is uncertain, with many managers in the EPL complaining that a winter World Cup would disrupt their teams’ season. Who knows how this will play out.
It seems to me if FIFA weren’t so corrupt, they could have just picked a country that doesn’t have the same summer temperatures as the sun to host the competition, like Ireland.
