Six of the seven games today are in the big FanDuel tournaments. That still gives us plenty of options. Who are the best ones for tonight? Let’s check the stats!

More from FanDuel

Here is my FanDuel lineup for May 18:

Pitcher:

Best Bet:

Cole Hamels, Phillies ($9,600): Hamels is off to a great start this season, but the only conversation surrounding him is how long he will remain in Philadelphia. many think he will be dealt before the trade deadline, but it has not affected him so far. Hamels has pitched very well against the Rockies in his career. He has held them to a .198 batting average in 81 at bats. The stats say he is the strongest bet tonight.

Honorable Mention:

Matt Harvey, Mets ($10,600): Harvey has only faced the Cardinals once, and he was solid. He struck out six and gave up four earned runs. Would that be enough to get a win against John Lackey and the Cardinals? Probably. He is a strong bet for a win, but Lackey is a solid pitcher against a bad Met offense.

If You’re Cheap:

Jordan Lyles, Rockies ($5,900): Lyles has been off and on this year. He was on is his last outing, and now he gets a Phillies team that has not done well against him (.196 in 51 at bats). The stats say that this will be a low scoring game. Hamels is the safer bet, but Lyles is worth a look if you want the best offense.

Stay Away:

Dan Haren, Marlins ($7,800): Haren has not fared well against the Diamondbacks in his career. They have hit .302 with three homers in 126 at bats against him. Rubby De La Rosa has been a good find for Arizona as well. He has never faced the Marlins, but he has been consistently good for the whole year.

Catcher:

Best Bet:

Wilin Rosario, Rockies ($3,500): The Rockies have finally figured out that Rosario is way too good of an offensive talent to waste away at AAA. He is seeing time behind the plate, but mostly at first base. He should definitely be there tonight against Cole Hamels. Rosario is 4-12 with two homers and four RBI off of the Phillies ace. He is a strong bet to have another good game.

If You’re Cheap:

Kevin Plawecki, Mets ($2,400): Plawecki’s bat is starting to heat up. He has never faced John Lackey, but he is still a solid bet for positive points. There really isn’t much of a plan B if you follow the stats only.

Next: Let's Check The Infield

First Base:

Best Bet:

Jose Abreu, White Sox ($3,700): Abreu is off to a slow start, but he has always hit Corey Kluber well. Abreu is 8-21 with two doubles, two homers, and six RBI off of Cleveland’s ace. Kluber was much better his last time out, but Abreu hit Kluber when he was on. If he is a little off again, this could be a very good game for Abreu.

If You’re Cheap:

Nick Swisher, Indians ($2,400): Swisher has actually hit White Sox lefty Chris Sale very well. Swish is 5-15 with a walk, a double, two homers, and four RBI off of Sale. He could be a really sneaky cheap option.

Second Base:

Best Bet:

Jose Altuve, Astros ($4,600): Altuve is 5-10 with a double and an RBI off of Drew Pomeranz in his career. This should come as no surprise. Jose hits everyone!

If You’re Cheap:

Aaron Hill, Diamondbacks ($3,000): Hill has had Dan Haren’s number in his career. Hill is 10-31 with two doubles, two triples, a homer, and six RBI off of Haren. He is a strong bet for at least one hit tonight.

Shortstop:

Best Bet:

Chris Owings, Diamondbacks ($3,300): Owings is another Diamondback that has hit Haren hard. Owings is a whopping nine of 14 off of him, but he only has one extra base hit, a double, and one lone RBI though. That said, I don’t care. Nine hits is a lot of points!

If You’re Cheap:

Jose Iglesias, Tigers ($2,500): Iglesias has never faced Mike Fiers. In fact, no Tiger has. This is based on the year that Iglesias has had thus far. There are no good cheaper options at SS, so Jose is a good fallback plan.

Third Base:

Best Bet:

Nolan Arenado, Rockies ($4,000): Arenado has only faced Cole Hamels twice, but his hit was an RBI double. Matt Carpenter has not done very well against Matt Harvey. That makes Arenado the best high priced option.

If You’re Cheap:

Conor Gillaspie, White Sox ($2,400): Gillaspie has actually hit Corey Kluber well. He has seven hits in 19 at bats, but only one extra base hit (a double) and no RBI. Still, he is a good bet for positive points if you have to go cheap.

Next: How Does The Outfield Look?

Outfield:

Best Bets:

Giancarlo Stanton, Marlins ($4,800): Stanton has been on quite a roll lately. He has never faced Rubby De La Rosa before, but Stanton has not really had problems hitting anyone lately. You get what you pay for, and he is the best available.

A.J. Pollock, Diamondbacks ($3,600): Pollock has crushed Haren for five hits in eight at bats with two doubles. He has not driven in a run off of Haren, but he is a terror when on base.

Jason Heyward, Cardinals ($3,100): Heyward has actually done well against Matt Harvey. Heyward is two for six with a two run homer off of the phenom. You can do worse than Heyward today.

If You’re Cheap:

Jake Marisnick, Astros ($2,600): Marisnick is two for six off of Pomeranz. However, those hits are a triple and a home run. He has driven in two runs as well. I like those odds for the price!

Michael Cuddyer, Mets ($2,500): Cuddyer has eight hits in 25 at bats off of John Lackey, and half of those are home runs. He has also walked twice, doubled, and driven in an impressive six runs. Cuddyer could be the best play of the night!
